Just now the Day of Knowledge finished at the Mining University. The first day of autumn was cold but it was warmed up by happy smiles and cheerful mood and enthusiasm of all people present.
The entertainment devoted to such a pleasant event started extremely. The symbol of the University, a constant favorite of all students Misha Potapov, being in a dormant since the winter session in one of classrooms, was awakened by sounds of Brass band and exulting of first-year students. Misha was not at a loss and joined the celebration jumping out of the window of the third floor of the 2nd academic building. For this deed he immediately received a credit on physical culture from the Rector.
Nikolai Petrovich Kosarev warmly welcomed newly-made students on the occasion and wished them to experience the true joy of studying at the Mining University and underlined the characteristic feature of the University, ..”the University loves its students and everything will be done that their expectations were justified”!
Traditionally honored guests came to congratulate students. The Mining University likes to receive guests and knows how to do it. Here friends are met with warmth and wide hospitality.
The Chief Federal Inspector on Sverdlovsk oblast Viktor Minenko on behalf of the Plenipotentiary Representative of RF President in the Urals Nikolai Vinnichenko and on his own behalf congratulated the whole staff of employees and students of URSMU with the Knowledge Day and wished strength, health and new achievements.
A graduate, postgraduate student of URSMU, State Duma Deputy Pavel Zyryanov said that the day would go down into the history, because yesterday’s school-leavers became students of a strong, powerful and great University, which would give all necessary knowledge and skills for a successful start to a happy life. He thanked the Mining University for the role it had played in his own fate and wished successes to all freshmen.
The Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Legislative Assembly of Sverdlovsk oblast Aleksandr Serebrennikov, also a graduate of the Mining University, announced the names of two lucky winners, possessors of a silver and bronze scholarships based on results of online-Olympiad “The Way to Success”! A Silver scholarship (5500 rubles monthly for two years) Pylyaeva Aleksandra received, and Anton Moore became the owner of a Bronze Scholarship (5500 rules monthly for a year). Young people with great joy thanked the University and its partners for the wonderful opportunity having been given to all students.
Besides, encouraging prizes for the 4th and 5th places were presented to Usova Natalya and Isupov Azamat. Each of them received a single sholarship in amount of 5500 rubles. Our Congratulations! Their way to successes at the Mining University has started with wins!
The President of Fuel and Power company “Vozrozdeniye (Rebirth) of the Urals” Aidar Khamzovich Zaripov, being a graduate of the University, also was present at the holiday. For him the Day of Knowledge is a double holiday, because the 1rst of September is his birthday. He was warmly congratulated with that day, everybody wished him successes, future prosperity and good health.
At the end of the festive line the Rector presented students the symbol of students’ life, namely, a credit-exam book and the key to K
nowledge. The students took an oath of loyalty and unanimously sang a Hymn of the Mining University.
To finish the holiday “a fire of knowledge” was lit up. Then explosions of serpentine and fountains of fireworks occurred and dozens of bright-colored balloons with inscribed wishes on them lowered onto heads of the students.
The Week of First-year Students is still in swing, but today it was a pleasure to watch that during first three days new “pets” of the University managed to make friends, to feel the atmosphere of the University and become a part of miners’ brotherhood.
We wish excellent marks in a forthcoming academic year, positive emotions and focus only on wins always and everywhere!
