A premiere of the performance “About Fedot-Strelets, a daring guy” took place on June 8, in the Tsar Hall of the Mining University. This tale for adults was written by an actor Leonid Filatov in 1985. It should be noted that it did not loose its actuality in our days too. The author of the stage version of the tale for adults is Vadim Dyemin, a leader of the theater-studio “Everest” of the Mining University. This is the second staging of a new cast of the student theater-studio under the leadership of Vadim Dyemin.
The subject of the work is traditional for many Russian folk tales: Strelets during hunting meets a dove who after having turned into a beautiful girl becomes his wife. The tsar wishing to exterminate or get rid of Strelets and marry his wife, invents and puts the hero on trials. The last trial is the one which is impossible to realize “to bring the thing absolutely not existing in the world”.
The staging successfully fitted in with dimensions of a small stage of the Tsar Hall, in which all the seats were occupied. Some cues given by actors sometimes aroused unanimous laughter of spectators. The actors deeply felt the atmosphere of the given work of literature and transferred a satirical mood of the play.
By this premier the theater has completed its theatrical season, so spectators will be able to see this remarkable performance not earlier than September.
