The Rector of the Ural State Mining University Nikolai Kosarev on May 23, arrived in Mongolia as a member of Oblast delegation. The delegation was headed by the Governor of Sverdlovsk oblast Aleksandr Misharin. The Head of Yekaterinburg city Arkadiy Chernetsky, members of the Sverdlovsk oblast government, ministers, representatives of Oblast Duma and Chamber of Representatives, industrialists, businessmen and bankers were also included into the delegation. Among representatives of the Ural Mining University, having visited the friendly country, there was a Chairman of the Department of International Activity Vladislav Belyaev and two Mongolian students studying at the University Dulguun Bayartsaikhan and Nasanbaatar Ganbaatar.
On May 24, representatives of Mining University participated in the work of two sections “Education, Science” and “Mining Industry and Power Engineering”, which were held at the National Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Rector N.P.Kosarev after presentation of the Mining University’s potential transferred the packet of offers on scientific-production and scientific-educational activity to a number of Mongolian higher schools (Mongolia State University, Institute of Commerce and Business, Mongolian Branch of the University named after Plekhanov) and to enterprises (“MongolRosTsvetMet”, “Baganuur”, “Erdenet”). On the same day an Agreement about collaboration in educational, scientific and cultural spheres was signed between URSMU and Mongolian University of Science and Technology at the national Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the presence of the Governor of Sverdlovsk oblast A.S.Misharin. Between these two significant events the President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiiyn Elbegdorzh personally decorated Nikolai Kosarev with a medal “Friendship of Peoples” for his contribution into development of collaboration between two countries.
In the morning of May 25, after solemn wreath-laying ceremony to the monument of Soviet soldiers who had died for Mongolia independence, the delegation of Sverdlovsk oblast was received by the Minister of Education, Science and Culture of Mongolia Yendongiiyn Otgonbayar, who during the discussion highly praised a system of training of skilled personnel for mining industry carried out by URSMU. He also fully supported the offer of the Ural delegation about the quota increase of students, undergraduates and postgraduate students of Mongolia for studies at higher schools of Yekaterinburg and especially in mining and geological specialities being in great demand.
