On December 19, the World Championship in swimming on short distances — 2010 in Dubai (UAE) was completed. Russian national team took the second place in the team event, having won 10 medals — four gold, four silver and two bronze ones, losing the first place to Americans. Unfortunately, the medals were won by representatives of the male half of the team.
Swimming is a truly beautiful and spectacular kind of sports, which collects a lot of fans across the planet! The Russian national team consists of really strong Russian heroes who have shown themselves worthy of the championship in Dubai! The most significant contribution to the collection of medals of Russia was made by a student-miner Nikita Lobintsev (1 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze)! During the first two days Nikita won a silver medal in the 4x100 meter relay race by the crawl style and gold in the 4x200 meters relay race.
The third day of the championship was marked by the event that Nikita became the only one who brought a medal for the Russian team, having won a silver in the 400 m crawl. During the last day Nikita won just two medals: a bronze in swimming at the 100 m crawl and silver in the 4x100 meter combined relay together with Stanislav Donets, Stanislav Lahtyuhov and Eugene Korotyshkin..

It is hard even to imagine what an incredible effort it takes to keep constantly yourself in top form, to compete with the world stars of swimming, multiple Olympic champion. Nikita Lobintsev is a wonderful example of how to combine incredible victories at the world level with successful university studies in engineering specialities.
